Hafton Castle is a magnificent building located in Hunter’s Quay, just outside Dunoon with views across Holy Loch. The Castle is set in its own delightful gardens with ample parking space. It has a large heated indoor swimming pool measuring 8m by 25m (Please note there is a charge of £500 per week for the use of the swimming pool.)
Hafton Castle is a superb house with its wonderful indoor pool, and numerous spacious public rooms. There is a large reception hall, dining room, large drawing room with bar area which opens into a small drawing room, library, billiard room, spacious conservatory and lots of outdoor space with a terrace and gardens, in fact plenty of space for the large number of people it sleeps. The Castle was built by James Hunter, and its architect was David Hamilton who also designed Dunoon Castle. The building has some magnificent features, beautiful ceilings, carved doors and a superb staircase.

Outside in the gardens are old trees, lawns and beautiful views across the Loch. Red deer can often be seen in the gardens. The Castle is very accessible and can be reached from Glasgow Airport in approximately 45 minutes by car and guests usually arrive via the ferry which departs from Gourock and crosses the Firth of Clyde, a very romantic and atmospheric start to their stay at Hafton. There are many local activities, golf, swimming, clay pigeon shooting, sailing, fishing and quad biking to name but a few. Dunoon itself is the home of the Cowal Highland Gathering and has a castle and museum.
